FAQ
Q: How often do I regenerate the Carbon Web Absorber?
A: As with carbon base clothing, time between regenerations depends on use. Warmer weather, when you sweat more, you will want to regenerate more frequently. (Note: always keep lid sealed when not in use.)
Q: When do I replace the Carbon Web Adsorber?
A: The Carbon Web Adsorber is designed to release carbon granules continuously throughout your clothes and gear; we recommend you replace your Carbon Web Adsorber every other season.
Q: Do I regenerate my Carbon Web Adsorber by itself, or with my clothes?
A: You can regenerate the Carbon Web Adsorber by itself or with your clothes.
Q: When I open the plastic bag and remove my Carbon Web Adsorber, is it ready to use or do I have to regenerate it?
A: It is kept in the airtight plastic bag so it is ready to use.
Q: Can I store things such as headcovers, hats and gloves in the Carbon Web Adsorber support cords in the lid of the tote?
A: Yes, in fact we recommend that you do. Headcovers, hats and gloves hold the most human scent bacteria. Keeping them close to the carbon is more effective and what a great way to always find them!
Q: Do I put scent wafers or cover scents inside of the tote?
A: No!! The Carbon Web Adsorber is constantly adsorbing scent; you do not want to fill the carbon pore structure. Once the capacity of the carbon pores is reached, you must regenerate. ScenTote is a scent eliminating system; you want all available pore structure adsorbing scent from your clothes and gear, not from any form of cover scent.
Q: Explain the difference between “adsorb” and absorb”.
A: “Adsorb” describes the process of a gas being bonded to the surface of a solid. There is an attraction and a molecular bond as human odor is adsorbed into the surface of the activated carbon web granules. An example of “absorb” is what happens when a sponge takes up a liquid. In this case there is no molecular bond because the liquid is simply drawn into the open pores of the sponge.
